Hi, what colour are your ranchu? Calico ranchu can sometimes be more prone to smaller head growth, especially cheaper ones. 2 inches is still very small but there should be at least an impression of a wen, ranchus have a more refined head growth than lionheads so it will never be that big in comprison. In my experience hikari lionhead does seem to help with head growth as well as general body form if fed regularly but there has to be something there in the way of wen to build uppon i.e. it wont give a small wen fish massive headgrowth. hope this helps.

Hi, orandadan, thx for the reply Well, majority of my ranchu is a pure yellow, orange and yellow, white and a small dot of orange on body and red dot on top of head, i think its a basic ranchu colour, tomorrow i'll post the picture to make sure.. well on the head there's a slight shape of wen but it just like older ryukin but it's bolder, not a lump of good beautifull fat like my orandas.. thx again |
