hi.gif

Please refer to your entry forms which spells

MAX 2 ENTRIES PER CLASS

I have checked with the organiser and

that it should read MAX 2 ENTRIES PER CLASS PER CATEGORY which translates to mean that you can submit a max of up tp 4 fishes (2 Cat A and 2 Cat B) instead of just 2 fishes per class(either 2 Cat A or 2 Cat B or combination of 1 Cat A and 1 Cat B only)

Sorry for any misunderstanding and misinterpretation caused blush.gif

Before it becomes MAYDAY
There is a LAST DAY
Yes it is the final day to make your submission
Or comes 27th you will be denied admission
Bear in mind there are only 240 tanks to fill
Denied entries and you got to swallow that bitter pill. biggrin.gif

One of the marks of a great competition is in its participation.Your participation and contributions help the show achieve its reputable standing and further its vision and aspiration. With ever increasing participation from local fraternity as well as abroad,it becomes an increasing challenge to foster a common sense of pride and identity coming from a very diverse goldfish community.Few shows live up to that vision and only a handful have the honour to come close in achieving it.I believe MFGC 2010 is one of them and this year MFGC will be placing a stronger emphasis on the number of entries of each class and category to facilitate a better and more comprehensive representation for the betterment of any goldfish show..So mark your calender on the 27th May and together with your passion and commitment,we can make this show scale even greater heights.

With changing trends and influx of recent imports, short tailed oranda (yuan bao, oranchu) will make its maiden debut at this year MFGC 2010 as a new class itself.Previously it has to compete in the open class. good_very.gif

So you get to see something like this shiok.gif

It's not that simple.
You Compete what you groom.
If you groom well,
It will compete well.
It's not just about who's lucky,
It's also about who's more prepared.

IPB Image

It's that time of year again. And barely 3 weeks to go.Time to tighten up your grips, put to test what you have acquired at first half and now 's the time to show what you can offer with the second half.
Stick to your beliefs and practices and get ready to shine! I know...... some of your best fish will never get to compete. They either perish or deteriorate as the days of competition draw near. That's to be expected.I'm not immune to the perils of Murphy's Law as well but you got to overcome your fears and come out victors in this domestic battle within.Somehow your fish sense your anxiety and the stress you exude somehow get transferred to them and the inevitable usually occur............much to your disappointment of course.
It is crucial you are mentally focused just prior to competition. Too many times fear, stress, and pressure, shake up your confidence right before your fish even grace the compettion tank. Your goal is to get yourself into your Ideal Vision State and tell your fish likewise and go enjoy the show together. That is, you feel confident, focused, excited, and ready to go............ rolleyes.gif

On the day of the meet, know you have prepared as much as you can and go into the show with an air of confidence and excitement. You've worked hard, now is the time to let it shine. Good luck, and most importantly, have fun. biggrin.gif

Exactly 3 weeks to go and it's time to look at the days ahead. You might still be struggling with finishing a showpiece for the compe, or you might be almost to the end of your grooming already. If you're in the latter position, I want to give you a big pat on the back. If you're in the former, don't worry, because that's pretty much where I am too.
Well I'm no good at pep talk as it can often serves as a double edged sword biggrin.gif Such talk may help some competitors to reach an optimal level of arousal, but can cause others to become over-aroused and anxious, leading to a poor performance.
Well looks like I'm the lone voice at RG left but I just got to put down in words to convey my thoughts. In 3 weeks,i will be sending my largest contingent ever in any local goldfish shows and i'm ready to play fish and not kill them! blush.gif

hi.gif Hi Doc,

Do you know why this short-tailed oranda has to compete in the open class? Was there no Oranda class? In my opinion, this fish is still an oranda (no matter how long/short its tail is) and has to compete in Oranda class. If needed, the organiser can make a sub-class under Oranda class, called Short-tailed Oranda class (or Butterfly-tailed Oranda class, if any) to differentiate it with the standard long-tailed orandas.

Just like ranchu, there are Black Ranchu class, Metallic Ranchu class, etc. but all still under same category: Ranchu.

Tks n rgds,
William

Hi william

In previous MFGC 2008 competition, short tailed oranda was unheard of.In 2009 Aquarama and Fish hub compe, most competed the short tailed oranda under the open category rather then going against the conventional oranda class.I guess riding on its novelty and recent introduction the organiser has created a special class to cater for its enthusiasts. You are very right in classifying them as oranda. But with the split in classifying them into short tailed and long tailed variety,we have an extra challenger with a class of its own.

Thanks for your explanation, Doc.

There are new varieties in the market nowadays, like dragon eyes pearlscales, butterfly tailed oranda/ryukin, etc. It is confusing how to classify them.

For me, they are still pearlscales, oranda and ryukin ;-)

The countdown begins.

It doesn't get bigger than this. The 2010 MFGC!Be prepared for a competitive field featuring the very best in our local goldfish fraternity fighting tooth and nail for many coveted prizes. The build up has been enormous and each passing day adds more than just anticipation and uncertainty. Will the traditional BIG FOUR(Oranda,Ryukin,Ranchu or Dragon eye) triumph and rule the tanks again or will there be a fairy tale debut for other breeds to take the throne? You bet!
So head down to IMM in about 10 days time to capture the awe and experience that GOLD piscine feel.
And if you can't make it to IMM,fret not as Rafflesgold will be there to cover the event throughout and I got a feeling we may bring back LIVE SCORE to perk up the suspense! No promises but this compe is certainly set to be a classic.
