Is it abnormal for an oranda to have a pimple like growth on it's wen. Generally the wen is pimplely but this seems like it is a pimple on pimples. Will the wen even out/ flaten out on the top?

Yes, this is normal. White or other "pimples" are a sign that the wen is growing (it is kind of like scar tissue). This means that your water quality is good and your fish is healthy.
