Top View Pearlscales Options

Hi everyone, pearlscales are my favourite fish. i keep mine in a tub outdoors so i see them as top view. i live in australia so finding a really nice quality fish is a little hard to come by, mine are a decent shape nice and round, but not like some of the ones i have seen pictures of on the internet, i was just wondering is there anything special i should feed them?? i am currently feeding them on hikari lionhead and shelled peas. i would very much like to make mine grow extremely fat like the ones i have seen pictures of! any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated
