QUOTE(white horse T1 @ Thu 06 May 2004 08:39 PM) a single tail means defect mah? Definitely a defect if a ranchu has a single tail only, but bro void's ranchu does not have a single tail. The tails are joined and is a called a 3-pivoted tails. There's nothing wrong with that, except a 4-pivoted or a sakurai tails is "nicer". |

If you have one, observe and you'll see it only have one "center bone" but as the tails split, the bone also split into two. So a 3-pivoted only have one center bone instead of two bones that joined together. |

Heard that you cannot feed black goldfish with colour enhancers and also to raise it in a black tub rather than in bright tank or blue tubs. Also needs plenty of sunlight. Are these true?????

Rainbow Pet sells a special pellet for colour enhancement ($15/- for a small bottle). My in-law has a tub of orange ranchu and oranda that I gave them some time back. They fed the pellets bought from Rainbow Pet. After several weeks, the colour changed to deep red.
I tried the pallets for the black ranchu and I think it works. I have given my black ranchu to a friend and he claims that the colour is still very black. |

Is there any chance you could get hold of the bottle and list out the ingredients? I'm not totally against using colour enhancers so long as they are natural. Quicky ways to bring out the colour is likely to damage, if I remember correctly, the kidney leading to stunt growth. Thanx. |

Sorry because I cannot read Japanese but the goldfish my in-law kept are more than 3 years old now. They feed the goldfish once a day and change water once a week with no filter for the tub (4 ft x 2 ft x 10 inchs dp).
