QUOTE(olddog @ Mon 14 Jun 2004 03:35 AM) Singapore sounds a nice place to live. Super selection and decently priced fish. What a contrast to the UK. I bet the government don’t tax you 30%-40% on what you earn then 17.5% when you spend it in the shops…………. It isn’t fair you even get the good whether as well. I will have to move out to Singapore when I retire!!!!!!!!! Regards Olddog We can give our Ranchu cold water in the winter ! Regards, Geert Coppens |

QUOTE(yamato38gunkei @ Tue 15 Jun 2004 07:00 AM) We can give our Ranchu cold water in the winter ! Regards, Geert Coppens Geert, I must remember how lucky we are in January when we are up to our elbows in 2 deg water cleaning the sides of our tubs. It brings tears to my eyes just to think about it!!!!!! Have you ever tried to dry your hands on a hard frozen towel? Or how about pouring boiling water over the fish house door padlock to get it to work. You are correct though, the cool period has its development advantages. Best regards Forrest (hotddog) |

Now I have re-trained as a plumber/heating engineer to take advantage of this mad situation. Accordingly I now have some crazy ideas to gas heat some ranchu pools cheaply using domestic heating boilers!!!!!! I will keep you posted. Mad plumber/scientist projects to come, it should be fun. In January I could easily be tempted to join the ranchu and back stroke a few lengths of a 75 deg ranchu pool. I gave plenty of thought about the chilling methods for you guys but I haven’t come up with anything practical yet. Forrest (olddog) |

Cheers As a ranchu consultant I would go very hungry……… Plenty enthusiasm but much to learn. It’s a long and perplexing road to understand ranchu …….even then standards move and evolve…The road has many twists and turns…… so many different methods to shape our work. So little time in one mans lifetime to strive for even a hint of perfection! No wonder the Japanese have such beautiful national treasure. Can you imagine many generations of your family perfecting and enhancing the work you started on your bloodline. Forrest. |
