change 80% water
it indicates either ammonia high, or nitrate high

could also be due to the food
or the fish is bleeding

take note how fast does the water turn yellow after a 80% water change

u mean ur tank can maintain clear most of time??

dun tink its nitrate, cos i have plants in e tank enough nitrobacter

dun tink its ammonia either, cos i jus added PSB & Geo liquid yesterday while doing water changing...

my fishes r in healthy state, n still active as usual, it has always been slightly yellow until new fishes r introduced in to e tank, e yellow became darker, does e population also accounts for e yellowing of e water??

Food, should also be e culprit, i feed 4 times daily n up to 10 mins each time, is it e cause??

If it is, den how can i remove e colour?? have used activated carbon(twice the dosage recommended), result is still yellow... cry.gif

Thanks for e reply

yes.. my filtered tank remains clear most of the time.. if it starts to turn yellow, a nitrate test normally reveals high levels smile.gif

PSB is just a tempory solution
Geo Liquid doesn't remove ammonia directly

plants r not effective in removing nitrate without enough quantity, and strong sunlight

y not do a test on the parameters when your water turns yellow?

maybe the roots of your plants could be staining the water? unsure.gif

as you feed heavier, doesn't it implies higher ammonia? and the end result of higher nitrate? wink.gif

activated carbon does help abit, but its not a miracle product smile.gif
it helps to remove smell too..
