i used salt to bring up e PH n use coral chips to maintain it

bud, would you point me to any information that salt is used to buffer the pH ?

Sodium Chloride ... can have effect on pH ????? It is your coral chip, Calcium Carbonate, that really play the most important role to stablise your water.

I know you like to learn more, but please, read more first then bring out the doubts to discuss. Never never never assume.

salt is nuetral ph, thus always addin salt durin water changes help to maintain ph, while coral achips maintain e hardness of water thus fallin of ph is prevented... but ultimately i would still prefer to use ready packed ph buffer from LFS... smile.gif
n to remind all tat wat i post is in relation to my setup...
e setup is also an important aspect as to wat is necessary to be used or add to e tank...
e kinda gravel i use is eejika, n learn from e shop assistant tat it is not from acidic water such as tthose from US, thus , there isnt a need to use buffer now at e beginning of e setup n coral chips can still manitain e hardness... n i made no claims tat salt can buffer water, onli mention wat i use to wat my setup requires smile.gif

Unless it's a different kind from what I had, water lettuce floats, the leafs rot submerged in water, and need a lot of sunlight to thrive.
