I meant what I wrote - I am pointing at people who would want to sue me for using that " " icon, as I don't see anything wrong with using it. So pls read back again and see where had I mentioned I was pointing at you. Please continue the discussion on the "My Tank Setup". If you want coffeeshop talk pls attend our upcoming monthly Rafflesgold Live! I will be there. And as I always say: "Don't think too much" |

Dear Bud
This is a specialized forum for goldfish hobbyists to share knowledge. Spreading forklore acquired from LFS is frown upon (but fortunately often seen as a joke.) However, yourself once said no one should not follow blindly. So why were you writing blindly for others to read? Bros here have been strangely nice to you, hinting to you instead of tell you right off in the begining that your gravel-bed setup will not work but you didn't catch the hints. Cool down and think about it. Do we have some hidden agenda to profit from you? If so many bros are telling you basically the same thing, shouldn't you start listening? Why is there a need for you to find out why gravel-bed filtration doesn't work by experimenting it yourself? Do you have to leap off a tall building to find out it will hurt you pretty badly? Do NOT experiment it; a gay HK singer already did and it killed him ah! This is a specialized goldfish forum where people are documenting their experience in nearly all subjects matter to goldfish keeping. Like CNBC said - Profit from it! The information here are good. You should know. Others and myself have stopped you from spreading wrong info. The ball is now in your hand to decide if you really want to learn the art of goldfish keeping. Cheers |

wow...
so many things happening. well, let's not argue about this. Some hobbyist prefer to learn things the hard way. perhaps what we are more concerned about is the wrong information being disseminated to others especially newbies. There's nothing wrong with sharing what you have found out. Of course gravels are really nice to have. I am always tempted to add gravel into my tank. I am sure all other hobbysits would love to have them if not for their pros and cons. What we can do is give you the apple, you can touch it, you can see it, you can smell it, you can tap on it, to eat and swallow or not is really up to you. What hurts us more is the lost of fish lives and the lost of yet another hobbyist which will go around saying "goldfish are hard to keep!!!" |

Okie...
I think we have put our message across to bud. So I'm closing this thread by tonight for it's going way off topic. Finish up before that if you like. Beside, I think I prefer to keep the $500 fine for Fart and Smile a little secret of ours instead of broadcasting it around the world. For the record, I think it's okay to Fart and Look Serious doing it. |

ah... can still post ah??
bud, i believe you are still new to the forum and probably experiencing some culture shock. well, rest assured that those icons are are targetted at you (at least not now ) that will happen when we know you better haha so relax.... I just like to reiterate that i dun quite agree with HB, that the gravel setup is not going to work. It will work, but you gotta put in the effort. without it, the setup will fail, and when it fail, it could be catastrophic. I still think a tank with gravel and plants and goldfish swimming around is really cool. This is like what we see in magazine and such. But I know I wouldn't try it as I am not prepared for the amount of effort required. At most, I would do it for a tank just for taking photographs. |

Bud, I dun care if u are a law maker. Noone can put a strict rules on how we should keep our fish. Noone has yet to tell u a strict no to your intent, simply just advices for you to think over it. When comes to a hobby that we share our joy and passion, u got to come to the term that everyone is equal and to further our knowledge thru active discussions. We see your knowledge swayed far away from realistic, far away from the truth.
U might hv find this place rather hostile, but within they are quite a helpful, knowledgeable bunch. Once in a while naughty. Be an active hobbyists, not passive. |
